DTMK Driving School was founded by Christopher Cook, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and Qualified Teacher with a background in emergency services education.
Christopher’s approach to driver training is built on education, safety, and responsibility. Learning to drive is not simply about passing a test. It is about developing awareness, judgement, and the confidence to manage real world situations safely and independently. Every lesson is delivered in a calm, structured, and supportive environment, allowing learners to build confidence at their own pace.
With over 30 years of driving experience and nearly two decades working in education and training, Christopher brings a depth of knowledge and professionalism that extends far beyond the standard requirements of driving instruction.

A former emergency services educator
Prior to establishing DTMK Driving School, Christopher worked as an Ambulance Education Manager, where he was responsible for delivering education and training to ambulance service personnel, including driver training.
This role involved teaching advanced driving principles, hazard awareness, and decision making in safety critical environments. Although Christopher no longer works within the emergency services, this experience continues to shape the structured and safety focused approach used when teaching learner drivers today.
This background provides a unique perspective on driver safety, helping learners understand not just how to drive, but how to recognise and manage risk effectively.
A Qualified Teacher as well as an Approved Driving Instructor
In addition to being a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, Christopher is also a Qualified Teacher. This ensures lessons are delivered using proven educational methods, tailored to support effective learning and long term skill development.
Every learner is different. Some develop confidence quickly, while others benefit from a more gradual approach. Lessons are adapted to suit each individual, ensuring learners feel supported and capable throughout their journey.
Progress is tracked using the Total Drive app, allowing learners to review feedback, monitor their development, and prepare fully for their practical driving test.
Advanced driving qualifications and professional standards
Christopher has gained advanced driving qualifications including RoSPA Gold, one of the highest civilian driving standards available in the United Kingdom. This reflects a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of driving competence and professionalism.
This advanced training supports the delivery of structured, safety focused lessons that prepare learners not only for their driving test, but for a lifetime of safe driving.
Part of a wider commitment to education and public safety
DTMK Driving School operates as part of DTMK Limited, a company focused on education, training, and public safety.
Alongside driver training, Christopher also founded DTMK Training Services, a Qualsafe Awards approved first aid training centre based in Milton Keynes. This allows lifesaving education to be integrated into driver training through the Learn to Drive – Learn CPR campaign, where learners who pass with DTMK are invited to attend a free Basic Life Support course.
This reflects a wider belief that drivers have an important role in community safety. Road users are often first on scene at incidents, and providing drivers with the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately helps create safer roads and stronger communities.
